Materials with specific functional properties and their applications. Main research areas: gas sensors, exhaust gas aftertreatment, in-situ catalyst monitoring, ceramic microsystems technology, electro-chemical sensors, biosensors (also for gas detection), thermoelectric sensors, dynamic scanning calo-rimetry, and materials for energy conversion. Technologies: powder and ceramics processing, film technologies, LTCC, aerosol deposition, impedance spectrocopy etc.
